I dont know for sure if this is the right forum, but here goes. My dad is giving me the LS1 out of his car because he wants it to drive like a stock on again. He says he is going to buy a 5.3 because they are so cheap. My question is will the truck PCM go back into his 99 camaro to run the drivetrain. IE will it plug into his wiring harness or does he need to get a camaro PCM and have it tuned for the 5.3.

it'll plug in, but he'll need to flash it to an F_Body OS since the trucks are fly by wire (i'm pretty sure)

Kinda a strange swap though... 5.7L to 5.3L in an f-body heh (you'd have to do some tuning to the F-Body OS also since you're running less cubes.. not worth the hastle in my opinion)
