Default Tuning MAF with wideband

Just got done tuning the VE table in speed density mode using a wideband. Came out great. Tomorrow I plan on tuning the MAF using the wideband as well but have a question. Right now LTFT learning is off, closed loop is disabled, as is DFCO and PE.

Do I need to reenable PE to tune the MAF? I don't feel comfortable going WOT with PE disabled and the plan was several pulls in 3rd from 1100rpm to redline to get the MAF/% error. What about closed loop and DFCO?

Thanks

According to that link, you leave DFCO and LTFT learning off but it doesn't specifically mention PE. I think I'll enable it so I don't blow up the motor at WOT.

Why did you turn off PE? Ive always tuned My MAF and VE with PE on and set to what I want. Pretty risky to leave it off.

When going WOT the pcm will use the richer value of either the PE table or the Commanded Fuel when in Open Loop (ECT vs. Map- Stock OS) or (RPM vs. MAP- Custom OS). If you plan accordingly there is no need to fear anything.

We did disabled the PE when tuning the VE, The main reason for it is that we wanted to tune the whole VE table. When loging with PE enable you will not hit any of the cells lower than 90 kpa at higher than 4000rpms. We only did this for 2 drives after we got the lower part of the VE nailed down. Did we need to do this? probably not but in the interest of been thorough we did and I did the same with my car.
