Can you lose a partial tune?
Can you lose a partial tune? I have been searching for my problem for about a month and seem to think it may be in the tune. Car ran great last summer but when I got it out of storage it cuts out horrible at 4000rpm only in first gear. The rest of the gears still pull strong and hard with no problems. Is it possilbe to lose part of a tune?

only thing you can lose are the learned parameters which the PCM will quickly relearn... the rest is stored in flash memory that doesn't change unless told to do so explicitly

If I reset my PCM/Disconnect my Battery/Battery goes dead will I lose my tune?
---Nope... your tune is stored in flash memory... only way to lose it is if you reflash your PCM. It may idle poorly at first while the car is "relearning" how to idle however. This should only last a few minutes.

hmm....does anyone know what else could cause this to happen in only first gear?? It cant be anything with fuel or spark because it would have to do it in all other gears. This is what leads me to believe that it had to be something up with the tune. I do not have anything to log with or I already would have. I am also trying to find Steve ( the tuner that GMR used) phone number if anyone has it.
