Knock sensor keeps going nuts on an 03z06
When the car was stock, and on the dyno, the knock sensor was pulling as much as 7 degrees of timing. The knock sensor would go nuts. Played with the fuel/air and it smoothed out and was only pulling 2-3.
Put on a set of afr 205s, G5x3 cam, lg pro longtubes, underdrive pulleys, 165 thermostat, and fast 90/90. Same thing. Car was pulling crazy amounts of timing. With only 23 degrees of timing, the car was pulling 3 degrees.
Anybody else have problems with an overly sensitive knock sensor? We even tried "dulling" the sensor, with no luck.
Is it possible the sensor is going bad?
Thanks in advance
Dave

Similar problems on a supercharged C5. I played with this for 3 years using LS1 Edit.
In HP Tuners I cured this in one go - amend the knock sensor global gain. It's set at 4 then 1 across the table (by gear I think) for stock. I changed it to 5 then 2 - problem solved. No knock, no ping, pulls like a train.
