Default Not a LS1 but a 2.2l boosted????

Well my winter beater a 1998 2.2l S-10 ended up with a JY turbo setup somehow. Here is the problem I thought I would just through some 50lb/hr injectors and a 2bar MAP (speed density vehicle) and tune away. Wrong!

First the injector constant will not go high enough for the 50's. No problem I guess I had enough room in the idle VE table to get it to a 15:1 AFR at idle and low rpm cruise. Good deal right. BTW I am tuning open loop with a wideband. No open up the low RPM VE table and what do I see. Sure not the RPMvs.MAP I am used to NO!!! its RPMvsTPS, so I am SOL right? Well luckely there is enough room there to get fuel to it. I can get a 10.5:1 AFR at 7-8psi on my first try.

Now for the high RPM VE table. Same deal RPMvs.TPS,here is the hitch fro mthe factory its already near the max value of 100. I cannot enter a higher value. So I hit a brick wall when this table comes into play at 3800. No more fuel to play with. Tryed to fudge the PE table above 3600 set it to max of 2.0. No love still goes to 13:1 at 3800 and gets leaner and leaner. No more fuel alloted.

So the million dollar question does anyone have any ideas, besides throwing a FMU on the ol'girl.

Well it looks as though its time for a FMU and alky. Tried to change the VE offset as far as I could and no go there either. Just not enough fuel in the tables for boost at all. I am bummed.

are you using efilive for the tuning? I can put in more than 100% ve in the table?

Nope just 100. Unless, I turn up the VE offset, but I still have the same range. If I turn up the offset I get a rich idle and cruise and cannot adjust the VE down far enough. So I could be running into a HPT issue?

Well, im sure there are lots of ways to make it work without having to minipulate your fuel pressure. I dont know what tables you have availible, but i know that efilive there are plenty to get your fuel in line.

Tom when you get a chance send me your current file & I'll take a look at it and see if there are some other fueling tables we can add as well as check on the VE table values for you.

Email sent. Also wat4me will EFI support a 50lb/hr injector.

As far as fuel goes I have
Main VE: idle, high rpm, low RPM dbl, low RPM single. and VE offset(would be useful if I could have the right inj. constant.

Injector constant goes up to .467 Liter per Gram per Second.

Power enrich goes up to 2.0 max I have it set to come in at about 60% at lower RPM down to 26% at higher RPM. Delay is set at 0rpm. There is no delay timer either. The scan tool shows it in PE though. So I know that is not a issue.

I mean I just have nothing to work with at all. I do not even have a cranking VE. I have done over 1000 tunes mostly with tunercat so I am no novice. I can usually do a good job figuring these things out. I do not know if its PCM limitations or software???

Thanks for all of the help and looking into this thread.

For the injector constant the larger the injector the smaller the number you want this to be.

As for the VE tables the higher you set the offset value the higher the VE table can go all the way up to 200%
