Default Tuning for startup

heads/cam car.

turn the key, chug, chug, chug, almost dead, then vroooom, idle sets in.

or
turn the key, chug, chug, chug, dies

what type of things in the tuning should I be datalogging/adjusting so that startup becomes

If its the initial startup, first 15-30 seconds, that is causing the problem try this:

Mutliply you the Main Volumetric Efficienct table in the 400-1200rpms cells by 60%. (so you are lowering the values by 40%).

I did this after my hotcam install because I had trouble cold and hot starting my car, this fixed it immediately. No more playing with the gas pedal.

The reason this seems to work is because the MAF sensor is not used when the car is first started up, so it uses the VE table to get manage the a/f, timing, etc... Once the car is running for a few seconds, it the VE table is not used anymore. The VE table is only used if your MAF is disconnected or broken...

Good luck.

I live near White Plains, roughly 20 miles from Manhattan. I actually check out where watertown was on mapquest! I don't think there is any way we could be further apart, and both be in NY, unless I lived at the tip of Long Island!
