on obII port what reads the rpm?

Default on obII port what reads the rpm?

goign to install my harlan shift light which pin is it that reads the rpm? hptuner has to be connected on somethign thats readign it so why cant i wire up my shift light to the same wire instead of wiring it to the pcm?

The harlan shift ligth connects to the pcm, not the OBD2 port. you want to connect to the #10 white wire, coming out of the pcm.

The HPtuners cable, gets the rpm signal by polling the pcm over VPW and getting the data back, the harlan shift light, is just looking for a tach signal.
