Question High Idle in gear?

I've got a 2000 z-28 with an A-4 and in park the car will idle at 800rpm and when in a gear Rev/Drive and foot is on the brake it will idle at 650rpm, but when I take my foot off of the brake the idle will jump to about 1300rpm and it is getting annouying cause I always riding my brakes to keep pace with traffic. Now the car does have a shift kit in it but not sure how intense.
Please PM me or shoot me an e-mail. Thanks to all.nhham2@yahoo.com

The code it throws is P0507 I believe....

From a dead stop, until the car shifts into 2nd, it holds rpm's high....but it wouldn't do it after 2nd gear....

You should have taken me for a ride and showed me

Haha I think the same thing in like every other thread in this section.

A good rule of thumb would be: If your question includes the phrase "my car is making a noise" it probably doesnt belong in Advanced Performance Tech

Im not making fun of you buddy. Im just saying a lot of people think simple vacuum leaks are advanced problems. This is a section mainly for theoretical things, your question belongs in external engine. Its no big deal, no need for fingers

Well let's see.

First, it isn't advanced. It's a f*cking vacuum leak. Takes a genius to figure that out huh?

Second, it isn't tech. It's a f*cking vacuum leak.

It doesn't matter if it's advanced tech or not. The moderator can decide that for himself. Lets focus on helping LS1NUT26 fix his idle problem. I don't know how to fix it, I just wanted to unjack the thread.

It's common sense.

It's a vacuum leak.

It's not a vac leak, its already been checked
I've heard some things about relearning the IAC Sensor.
Any input on this?

One more thing to say is that I'm kind of sick of people doggin on others, when this is a site for people to HELP others, not be complete asses. so any positive feedback would be nice.

It's a vacuum leak.

There is no other way for an engine to idle high, without throwing a IAC voltage error code. But even that is a vacuum leak.

Who ported your tb? thats is probably the problem. Also check the PCV line (vacuum line right behind the tb on the left, the rubber dries and cracks over time)

Not sure who ported the TB it was already done when I bought the car, but I'll check that line behind the TB and let you know what I find.

It was throwing a code of I think it was P0507 but my buddy scanned and deleted it and hasn't come back since and it was almost 2 weeks ago.

Who said I was an expert?

But, for the sake of argument, please tell me ANY other way in which a car can idle abnormally high. I mean, you're posting in Advanced Tech, you must know something.
