can't read pcm with efilive
can't read pcm with efilive is there something I am missing? it keeps telling me to disconnect and reconnect the cables but still no luck. I know the pcm works correctly because I used the tech 2 and was able to read everything and get the vin. so WTF am I doing wrong? (1998 ls1 camaro pcm)
The first thing I would check is the "CIG/ACCY" fuse. There's always a possibility it could of blown since the last time you used the Tech II. Are you running the latest software? Did you select the 97/98 GEN III as the engine controller? Was the ignition in the run position? That's about all I can think of at the moment.
thanks for the fast responce, I decided to go on my other pc and it detected the new software and went through the normal stuff when ever you plug any new device in. so I went back to pc #1 and went through the hardware stuff and found the search for new hardware icon, then I was able to get it to load the needed software off the efilive disc and everything worked for the most part. I was having a very hard time getting the dashboard to work in real time but some how on the 10th try it worked? anyway thanks again
