The unquantified unit of measure in this equation is your williningness/ability to consume, digest, and use a very powerful tool. Results will not come overnight but, in the long run if you have the patience and mental ability the results will be awesome.

If all you want is hot chicks and a fast car....go back to your tuner.

It also mentions that I should swap ECM's to an 02 or newer? Thats why I want to know the full costs involved. Additional cables or what all I need to do this correctly.

You just need to reflash the PCM with a newer OS, like the one from an 2002. The PCM's are the same.

Dennis is right. 99-02 V-8 512kb pcms are the same. Download the EFI Live software for free and compare/ look at the differences of 99, 00, 02 Operating Systems for yourself, for free. Without full knowledge you can easily see the expanded tables that give you more control which equals better drivability.

Making this effort will cut away from hunting for more hot chicks.

But you will be one step closer to going much faster...

Already done the hot chic thing and now I'm married with kids. This next combo should be the last one for this car unless I add a s/c down the road. I really just want to re-map the MAF table to save money on the tune. I'm adding a z06 MAF and it will need to be done and it will add to the cost of the tune. Its just a cut and paste isnt it to change the table? I've seen the tables listed so it isn't rocket science but it adds time to the tune and he is $95/hr. I guess it all depends on when they release the standalone unit as well. If it isnt in time then I'll have to go to the tuner. I'm not dropping extra coin for road runner or a cheap laptop when the standalone should have been here in June.

Decisions , decisions... I have nothing but time as I'm a stay at home dad so thats not a big issue. But $948 with a gauge is not cheap ( 1/6 of a turbo or s/c) and once its dialed in it doesnt change so its a one time use sort of. (even though that one time may take 3 months..lol)

There is always something you can tweak to make it that little bit better.

Plus if you have to take it somewhere to get regular maintenance done you can lower you rev limiter and speed limiter and then reflash it back when you leave. I'm gonna be doing this because of my damn A/C
