I need to tune my Trans AM and i have been told 2 things some ppl have told me to get it dyno tuned and others have suggested PCMforless.com, if anyone has expirence with either help would be appreciated

 

What are the mods? If turbo, it would be good to just get it tuned by someone locally so they can see it in person.

 

Since it is a turbo, a dyno tune would be the quick easy way. A mail order tune for a turbo requires a lot extra of work to dial it in afterwards.

 

With a FI setup I think a dyno tune is the only right way to do it. Otherwise you are forced to run back and forth to a dyno for testing and getting your tune revised.

 

IMO you will want a hands on tune, not a mail order for your turbo setup.

 

i just had my car tuned by the plug and play thing from pcm for less. great place. but with turbo, def. get a dyno tune.

 

Agreed. With bolt on mods, for example, you may only leave a few, if any HP on the table with a mail order tune. But, when you start getting more "exotic" (e.g. forced induction), unless your mail order tuner has some way to collect runtime data about your car, you're going to see better (and likely, safer) results with a dyno tune.

 

I would get it tuned by Nic D. He seems to be the local guru and will be doing my tune in the next few weeks after I get all of my parts swapped. I've ran into a few people that have had a lot of success with him.
