Lost power with stock MAF.
. Dam. I was told the car takes 300K to relearn the MAF, but not the case while WOT. Im going to install some Kooks LT's in 1 week. Tried to attach the red MAF ends to the GMAF but not compatable. I wonder if the LT work better with the stock or the GMAF? red ends. MAF ends, like porting, make the MAF
have a leaner result (lower reported airflow than stock output frequency). Whether this is more or
less off than the GMAF, dunno.
Pinging at upper RPM is unacceptable in a safety
(for the motor) sense and means you're leaving
power on the table.
Are you on the metric system? Then put "Km" after the number.OK, on the Granatelli MAF: it should provide you with a decent HP increase. Know a guy who installed one and took off over a tenth. Same track just 2 weeks later, and very similar weather. I was surprised and impressed that a simple MAF swap took off about .13 in his case. Supposedly, the GMAF's electonics have been recalibrated, which is a feature most of the other "improved" or aftermarket ones don't have. Therefore, the GMAF should not cause you to run lean. The computer will know there is more air and give you more fuel to match.
A definite improvement.
I could see no difference with my SC and it was harder to tune, so I took it off. It's sitting on a shelf in my garage.
DEFINITELY a great mod NA.
