REV limiter on 2000 RPM's
When the engine hits the 2000 RPM mark it stalls, the alternator fails and the warning lights flashes on and off along with the scanner.
Does not matter the temp, if I leave it idle theres no problem. Only when it hits 2000 RPM's.
If I force by accelerating beyond the 2000 RPM the alternator fails to charge and if I take out the intake boot, the IAC opens wide.
No problem with the fuel pressure, does not drop from 45 PSI any time.
Some friend told me that it has to do with a chip overheating on the PCM???
Could that be the PROM??

alternator on my Sportster fail in a similar way, it was just
worn to the point that brushes began to "float" at higher RPM.
It would only charge at low RPM and I had to ride about a
hundred miles like that, in the dark, until I got close enough
to the Key Largo HD shop that I could push it there next AM.
Don't know if the alternator even involves the PCM in that car.
But I'd look at the field voltage, any mystery control wires and
the output and see if any external thing changes (like, the ALT
light wire ought to come on, the field voltage and output sag to
battery float voltage, but what else?).
DayGlo AutoPartz chain stores will test your charging system,
luck of the draw as to whether you get the golf shirt with or
without clue but it's a freebie.
