Easy way, unplug the maf and copy high octane to low octane table so you dont lose power..
There is more to it than that but that will get you started. Its best with a custom OS so you dont lose the dual spark table scaling.

On a 98 you might not want to do sd anyways. The backup ve table is too small and makes it harder to tune for fuel on a bigger engine. It can be done, but it just isnt smooth transistions. Also as the other guys say, just put the fail rate for the maf to 100 and it will fail and quit using it.
