Default little black box?

this is going to be hard to explain....and i do NOT have a picture of it yet. cant get one till maybe tonight. I just got a ta yesterday thats totaled for parts. just lookin at the motor, there is this little black box? it appears to connect between the factory TPS plugin and the TPS sensor. IDK what it is. had no numbers or anything on it. havent seen one on any of the other 20 cars ive parted out. is it some performance chip someone wasted money on? car had about every bolt on you could possibly put on a car. if we cant figure out what it is i will try to get a pic up tonight after work.

Maybe a "tricker" for nitrous if it has additional
inputs, a so-called "chip" if it's just IAT in/out.

When in doubt, rip it out

I forget what it's called, but I've seen them for sale before. Basically it changes the impedance value of the tps at wot. It makes sure your computer "knows" it's at wot. I've seen some parts store tps's that don't ohm out correctly at wot, so I think that is supposed to fix that. I don't know if they work, but regardless, I could find better places on a car to spend money.

looks something like this?

The ends are different but yes that would be it. Had no idea what it was. Seems like a waste of money to me too. Since i have it might throw it on my motor but who knows. thanks for the input!

http://www.lmperformance.com/2573/1.html this is what it is. What a waste of money. I cant believe someone spent $100 on that. Probably some kid that didnt know how to do any internal work so he bought every bolt on part (with instructions) he could find.

That's just stupid. I would cut the connectors off, keep the connectors, and throw the box in the trash.
