Unhappy Backfires

I am having a problem with my 2001 Camaro LS1. The car will stumble and lose RPM signal, sometimes it will die and crank back up again while goin down the road. The shop I took it to said it was a bad crank sensor but I replaced it twice. It keeps giving me crank sensor codes. I put a new TPS sensor in it and it gave me a TPS/Pedal Position Sensor Code....I am puzzled! It backfires heavily and sputters horribly. Can anyone help?

Thanks. -Tom.

Sounds like improper timing?

Isn't the timing controlled by the PCM? I have it set at 31 degrees for the 150 shot of NOS. The coils are good, the plugs are new, the plug wires are new....new crank sensor, new cam sensor, new 13111's (o2 sensors), this is driving me mad......any other ideas? Thanks. -Tom.

Probably an issue with the crank sensor wiring, or the connector itself.

Question

What did it end up being on your car? I am going to try to get the relearn done. Does it require the software in order to relearn the crank sensor? Thanks. -Tom.

I checked the dealership parts dept and they don't even show a pigtail for the crank sensor at all. Is this part of the main wiring harness? Does anyone know where to find a new wire and connector for the crank sensor? Thanks. -Tom.
