DTC P0343 Any Ideas for a Fix?
I've got a diagnostic trouble code P0343 Powertrain: camshaft position sensor circuit high output. I did alot of searching for this. I inspected the connector & pins & they're fine. The harness & engine are an LS1 pulled from a 2002 Camaro wreck with 56,000 mi on it.Basically just broke in. The tach is running about double the speed of the PCM RPM which seems to coincide with the high circuit output code. I doubt the cam moved or am I wrong here? Has there been any issues with this with a fresh factory engine or from a wrecking yard pulled one? The manifold or engine innards have not been touched everything is factory. Where do I go from here...remove the manifold??
Thanks for any help on this, I'm racking my brain out!!

Thanks for the response. My scan tool cannot read CAM signal input. low to high transition per step 2 of that article topic. I was looking for anyone with experience of common problems that caused this DTC

Anyone? (I did an extensive search) My manifold is off & the sensor is out. I've got 10.5V on the red with ign on, the pink/black (Low Ref) shows nothing & Brwn/wht (CMP Signal) never shows voltage when the tip is near metal or not, even when I provide a separate Grnd to the pink/black. Could it be the sensor? All seems weird to me.
Does anyone know if the PNK/BLK PCM pin C1 / 61 Low Reference Camshaft Position Sensor is a ground wire ?

If you don't find an electrical issue make sure to take the timing cover off and check to see if the 3 cam bolts are backing out. This can happen with stock motor because there is no lock tight on the threads from factory.

According to the flow chart on the above link my sensor is not working the way it should. A new one is going in today. I also found a wire (the ground PCM ref wire) was cut. I'll put it back together today & report back. Thanks for all your inputs, I hope this fixes it.
