Default HP Tuners, tell me if this makes sense. . .

so im finally about ready to pull the trigger on getting tuning software since i need to tweek my car a little and i wanna try speed density, plus HP just came out with ford software so i can tune my daily driver 07 F-150. i have used a friends HP to tune his car and i really like the software

going over hp's website the tuning software for $499 comes with 8 credits. from what i read ls1 fbody's are 2 credits, 1bar speed density option is 1 credit, real time is 1 credit and F150's are 4 credits. 8 credits right which should be covered under the 8 that the original purchase comes with.

nope. you can only purchase it with 8 gm or 8 ford credits and i have to buy the other 4 at $50 a shot. so instead of being able to tune both my cars for $500 i have to spend $700 and have 4 credits just hanging out with nothing to do

ugh, guess i need to save more money

The RTT comes with any of the special operating systems, not separate from each of them if I remember correctly. So, 3 credits for speed density with RTT for the LS1. Get the 8 Ford credit version and then 3 GM, save $50.

No, that's 2 credits for SD with RTT.

AFAIK 1 Bar Speed Density w/RTT is only 1 credit.

it still doesnt make much sense the me that you cant get 4 gm and 4 ford. 8 credits is 8 credits, especially considering they all cost the same

You might be a good candidate for purchasing a used unit on the cheap that has 3 or 4 gm credits left & then just purchase ford credits so you can tune your ford vehicle. This person was selling theirs for $400 https://ls1tech.com/forums/pcm-diagnostics-tuning/832326-anyone-need-hptuners.html with unlimited LS1 fbodies.
