Default TPS problems?? TB Problems???

I did a little ve tuning (no load and nothing bellow 1400rpm)

I converted to a 2002 Operating system also. Everything seems ok, with out driving it its hard to tell. also dropped idle down to 900 rpm.

Also I was playing with the biometric controls and it likes 34-36* timing at idle if i start dropping it down it runs crappy and starts dieing. I have read this is because of the overlap in the cam it has a Egr effect that requires more timing???

My question is that the TPS sensor is reading from .8-2% with no throttle? I unplugged it turned the ign on then off plugged back in and it goes to 0 until its started, I rev it and it goes back to 0% until the rpm goes down some the it reads about 1-2% If I go under the hood and push the throttle down it goes back to 0% is it possible the spring is to weak and the vacuum is pulling the throttle open some?? I also moved the idle screw down some to see if that would change the tps setting, that did not work either.

Also I was comparing logs to my Ve table and I noticed the map reads 70 KPA in the scanner and when I look at the tune it has the 20 KPA column highlighted with what ever rpm its at. How dose that work?? When I hold the line at a certain spot in the log shouldn't that rpm and kpa reading be where it gets the ve % from??

Thank you very much for your time and patience with me!!!

doug revised to 2002 OS.tun

Looks like you did alot of work there. I see alot of changes there.

Remember to log GM.DYNCYLAIR_DMA so you can see what cells are knocking just in case.

You still need to disable the MAF. Try these numbers:

LABELS MAF Low Frequency Fail Limit
Parameters Value
{C2901} MAF High Frequency Fail 1 1.000000 Hz
{C2903} MAF High Frequency Fail Limit 1.000000 Failures
{C2904} MAF Low Frequency Fail 1 20000.000000 Hz
{C2906} MAF Low Frequency Fail Limit 1.000000 Failures
{C2907} MAF Test Min Engine Speed 300.000000 RPM
{C2908} MAF Test Min Run Time 0.400000 Seconds
{C2909} MAF Test Min Batt Voltage 8.000000 Volts
{C2910} MAF Test Max TPS 50.000000 %

Keep logging and see if you get any closer.

I did have it setup for ve tuning but that was on the 99 OS. This is just a 2002 version of my old tune with somethings fixed;
Open loop cold table
displacement
Ve table (need to be tuned in)
few other things

I have not done any ve tuning with this OS. I'm still waiting for spring. to do some driving.

No, use that pid to figure out where your knock is. The spark table axis' are RPM vs dyncylair flow. So, you'll need both to plot the changes that need to be made. You'll know "hey, it knocks @ 2000 rpm and .48-.52 dyncylair."
PS, I thought I sent you a tune with the MAF disabled, and set up ready to tune in SD? No?

Yea you did send me a tune with the maf disabled and ready for sd to tune via the short term trims but I am waiting for spring to drive the car, So for now I just put it to "Normal". Thanks Ed. Guess I need to wait for spring to go anyfarther. So after the ve, Maf, and PE is tuned in what else do I need to do?

First do the VE, then make any adjustments needed to the return to idle tables, follower, cracker, that kinda stuff. Alot of times once the idle area is dialed in, you have to adjust the idle air flow, sometimes the idle speed, even the IAC, and idle stop screw.
Then dial in the MAF. I usually set my PE to where I want the A/F to be and leave it, and then tune to it.
You may need to be on a dyno to get the upper VE and the MAF dialed in under WOT. You can do it on the street, but on a dyno will keep you from getting hurt, and out of trouble. They're great for repeatability too.

This is the tune I will use to monitor Stft to dial in the VE table.

It has the Maf dissabled
Pe dissabled to 4000RPM
DTC for maf off

doug revised to 2002 OS VE tunning stft.tun

If I have it setup wrong someone please let me know!! Thanks
