Error DTC P0782 2-3 Shift Malfunction?
Error DTC P0782 2-3 Shift Malfunction? I posted this over in the Manual Transmission section, but haven't received an answer. So maybe someone over here knows.... I just got the car back from the dealer and it had that one error and is misfiring big time! I hope it isn't what I think it might be

Re: Error DTC P0782 2-3 Shift Malfunction? I had the same problem a few weeks ago. My car would misfire constantly. I took the car to the dealer and they found that the number six injector was shorting out. The cause was the ECM upper wiring harness was rubbing the raw sheet metal. The jacket on the number six wire was cut and grounding on the sheet metal.
The dealer indicated this was not the first instance of the ECM harness shorting out against the sheet metal. Considering that misfiring can be caused by numerous things.... this may be something to look into for future preventative maintenance.
