Default corvette ls2 wiring and computer on a ls1 block?

Howdy,
I am working on a car for a friend (ls1 / 240sx track car). We are looking at using some aftermarket race gauges. There is one gauge set that will read the sensor data from the PCM of a ls2 corvette. Since we need a new engine harness i was looking into switching over. I realize that a few plugs maybe different and the lengths of a few wires different. One of the things i am concerned about is this: Does the Corvette PCM need a drive-by-wire throttle body?

Any other things that i am unaware of?

Thanks,
James

When you mean pcm of a ls2 vette are you talking e40 or e38 ecm.

Both would make a difference as one has a different crank trigger system that would cause issues on running that ls1 block.

E40 should work as it is CAN protocol, But it is just a lot of stuff that needs to be changed.

So the gauges dont work on VPW?

Didn't realize that, thanks.

The gauges can be bought with a wiring harness and senders, was just thinking of using the PCM data if it was easy - but there appears to be more to it.

Thanks again,
James
