Both will meet your needs, both have good support boards. I suggest that you read the stickies at the top of this section to familiarize yourself with the basics of tuning.
Best of luck.
I Am Also Intrested On This Matter . 99 Camaro Z28 4.10 Gears,3500 Tci Stall, fast Intake, Tb Ptm 90 Mm,headers And M/t Slicks 12.60. Cam On The Way.ms4. But Will Need To Tune. Would Perfer To Do It On My Own.what Tune Or Is It To Hard . Any Info Apprciated. Let's discuss what I do know so I can keep this breif.
EFI Live works with your laptop. It does have blackbox capability for tredning log files, but working with a laptop is the way to go. You can monitor about quite a few parameters (PIDS) simultaneously with virtually real time updates...log no more than 24 channels to get 10 frames/second (i.e. each 1st priority pid gets logged 10x/sec); more than 24 channels logs at a slower rate (5 frames/sec or less).
EFILive scan tool is $250 and the upgrade to a tuning license is another $250 or you can buy em both for about $500. There's other packages and pricing, but I'm not up to speed on them.
I bought a tuned PCM from wait4me for $156. I'm still dialing in an idle issue, but you might want to buy a tune from him to get you in the ball park (I think a tune is ~$70) and then buy EFI Live to tweak it...Jesse may even get it right for you and you can use EFILive to play with. The prices at wait4me make them pretty hard to pass up.
Good luck
