Some of you might know I have bought Tony's(NINEBALL) old car, THE silver Formula.
I want to add a stand alone harness BS3 and a racepak. With doing this I can remove all factory wiring and have just the wiring for the engine and the racepak .
Is there anything else I need?
Can I completely remove all wiring and Run my own wiring for hatch release(I know I like a power hatch) , and run my own wiring for the headlights to still Fold up ?
This car has no ac/heater box and no controls at all.
Has anyone done any of this? I still want the lights to work and turn signals, that is all I can think of that is left to run with a stand alone wiring haness on the engine, fans, fuel pump etc..
Or am I better to just tie up everything except those connections that already work for the lights and etc...?????

If this is going to be a pure race car and you are wanting to rewire everything, you could get a wiring kit from Spaghetti Menders . Its a custom harness, so he can build it anyway you want. I have one in my Mustang, it controls everything including lights/running lights. I'm sure he could put a circuit in there for the hatch and windows....whatever you need.
If you didn't want to spend 1500.00 on that kit above, you could do what I did with my TA. It has BS3 with the Racepak dash. I left the BCM in the car and most of the underhood wiring. All my windows, door locks, hatch still work. Heater box/a/c is gone.

We rewired the shop car pretty easily. We got rid of the BCM and just wired it as if it was a simple circuit.
Give me a ring for BS3 pricing, we can go over a few options and figure out whats best.

I'm in the process or rewiring mine and am setting up for BS3/racepak. Leaving the BCM but have removed all the unnecessary circuits from the underhood wiring (actually moved it inside the car to make room for turbo stuff). I'm also removing the factory fuse blocks from the underhood wiring and changing to 2 small 7-circuit painless blocks to simplify it...

bringing this up from the dead. I am getting this setup, I see that you mentioned leaving your BCM in the car. Does the BCM need any inputs from the PCM to work? I do not mind leaving the BCM in the vehicle. Thanks

You can completely remove the PCM,the Windows,Headlights and Tailights doorlocks and chimes, daytime run lights etc will work from the BCM
You don't need a racepak with the BS3 ,they have full Internal logging(Optional)you don't need a computer in the car,you have 30 minutes to download run in the pits.RacePak makes a nice Dashboard specifically for the BS3

explain what you are trying to do, I removed everything from my car and went to just BS3 a few years ago and just wired it into my cars wiring. I had the speedo and all factory gauges functioning. takes a little thinking and is a tad more difficult on LS1 cars but my LT1 car it worked great. you can get a 97 cluster and get it going pretty easy
