Default daytona prototype tuning??

think this is a tunable cam that could be driven on the street some

248/248 .590/.590 106

its a daytona prototype cam and the internals are gonna be callies 3.185 crank with 1.888 rod journals 6.500 lentz rods with a 3.905 bore
it equals a 5.0
i will also have stage 3 243 heads
port matched proffesional products intake
with a 90mm ported and polished throttle body

I don't know how bad low end tuning will be (but it damn well won't be fun), but the "stock" style intake runner length doesn't seem compatible with that WAY oversquare bore/stroke ratio and large duration cam. How high do you figure this motor will need to spin?

With that much overlap you better have an excellent flowing exhaust system, or you will lose a lot of top end.

This sounds like a good contestant for EFI Live's Custom Operating System #5 with Alpha N fueling.

That's why the DPs use "big ugly"...and are limited to 7100 rpms.

For some reason, those don't sound like the dp cam specs...but I could be wrong. I know the grand am cup (or world challenge) cam is similar in profile (duration is different) and everyone said it would be a pain to tune. It's not bad at all really. There were a few threads a few years ago about it. Even a few guys daily drove that cam if I remember right.

Me too...not at all what I expected. But all that stuff is required by grand am. They don't allow much flexibility.

Heads are stock castings (LS6 if I remember right) that have been worked. 2.00 1.58 valves. Don't remember about the rockers though.

I have an LS6 intake that came off a crate engine sent to a dp team before the engine got modified. But it is just a stock intake. 2002 ZO6 casting.
