Default Lm-1 - Hp Tuners With Eio Help!

i am tying like hell to get my lm-1 to reed on my hpt scanner! i went threw the procces from thhpt site. i tried all 4 inputs. i am able to select the lm-1 pid from the list & asign it to any of the 4 inputs but, it seems like the selected input reeds bat. voltage wheather the lm1 analog out(red wire channel 1 on the lm-1 to terminal 1 on the hpt cable, copper - to term. 5 on hpt cable) is hooked to the hpt cable or not. it always reeds the same type of slightly fluctiating (volts?)#s 12.73-14.7... if there is a sticky let me know i looked but didnt see. thanx for reading this drawn out question. i just wanted to supply a througho explanation

Try reading the EIO channel voltage directly and see what
that does. You're looking for a 0-4V signal. You can program
the LM-1 to put out a fixed 2.000V and then see where that
shows up. Then you can switch back to the AFR function
when you know what's what. Might have to get into the
LM Programmer or the evil LogWorks to make sure the
output you're looking for isn't disabled or something. The
LM-1 I have loses its mind when the 9V battery runs out.
You have LM-1 ground tied to EIO ground I expect. What
is the power source for the unit? With the two unconnected
measure the voltage (DC & AC) between LM-1 ground and
EIO ground. Does it look significant relative to the signal
you'd expect to see?

ill check that tomarow. i think the lm-1 compatabilty might be a pain? i just dont get why the channel selected allways reeds something wheather hooked up or not. has any one herd of the hpt cable going bad like that? i will check to see if the lm-1 programmer #s match my setting in the hpt scanner for the lm-1 pid.

Open input will just float to someplace and get read,
whatever the leakage & noise "tell" it. If you jumpered
the unused ones to the connector ground they should
quiet down. Presuming there isn't some other problem.

makes sense to me. i am having a hard time determing how to verify the hpt & lm1 are sending & recieving the correct voltages. the hpt is my big prob. i can only find the info to change the #s for the afr threw the gauge area by right clicking the afr/lm-1 gauge on the gauge window. but the value apear to not be the ones i want to veiw

ok after fumbling around & talking to tech dept at both hpt & innovate i got it. for some reson i cant use channel 1 i had to use channel 2 on thelm-1 i was measuring the volts on both & no mater what i set channel 1 too it didnt jive like channel 2 that innovate tech told me not to use. i matched the parramitors in the hpt to the lm1 channel . & it was very close. i then nocked down the max volt. for the lm-1 chan. 2 from 5 to 4.8 to make the readings match on the lm-1 to my scanner. another thing i had noticed was the out put on the lm-1 doesnt reall work below a sertan voltage wich can throw the out put readings off so be cafull to look closely at the min & max. on both units set up for the channels. thanx for all your help.
