98 Tune

What's the truth about tuning a 98 PCM after heads/cam swap? Can a reputable shop get the tune done?

A good shop can get the H/C job done with the 98 pcm.

If you upgrade your pcm you will be able to run custom software to control
N20 at the flip of a switch- like having two tunes in one pcm (Read-no pulling over, re-flashing, just push a button on the fly...).

You will also be able to run a 2 or 3 bar MAP sensor for boost if you choose to go forced induction later on.

The 98 pcm can handle a 2 bar map sensor with our software package & as stated any capable tuner should have no problems tuning your vehicle using the 98 pcm.

excellent. thanks. What are the differences b/w EFI Live for 98 and 99 and up, if any?

98's don't have a 1 bar or 3 bar custom os available as compared to 99+ pcm's do with our software, but if you plan on using the stock operating system there really isn't much of a disadvantage at all.
