ls1 edit 8.1l injector values

ls1 edit 8.1l injector values Ok, I have a 5.3l 99 Silverado with a whipple (7lbs.). I installed 8.1 liter injectors and now need to dial them in with ls1edit. I can't figure out what values to put into the excel formula found on ls1edit@slowcar.net . Stock numbers were 2.74 across the table on the stock tune. I think the 8.1l injectors are 29-30lbs. fuel pressure is stock.

Re: ls1 edit 8.1l injector values Don't worry about that excel formula, I believe it's for Fbodys which have a different fuel system.
For the injectors try a value of 3.71 across the table. That should get you close but, I'm not sure of the exact size of those injectors.
If you post this in the truck performance section I'm sure you'll get a better answer. A few guys in there have ran these before so they should be able to help.

Re: ls1 edit 8.1l injector values There are a couple ways to calibrate your injectors.
Setting your injectors is not an exact science, so you are going to need some sort of scan tool to check your edit.
You will have to monitor your Lterms for both banks.
The object is to set your injector flow rate table so that your LTerms are roughly -5% at an idle (it doen'st have to be exact, just in the ballpark).
A quick percentage calc will give you some good starter numbers.
(New Injector lb/hr) / (Stock Injector lb/hr) = Number
Multiply your Injector Flow Rate table by the number you just came up with.
Load the program and start your car. Check your LTerms.
If your LTerms are positive shift the Injector flow rate table down in 2% steps until they go slightly negative.
If your LTerms are waaaay negative shift the injector flow rate table up in 2% steps until they are slightly negative.
