Default hopefully the problems are in the tune.

Well we all have a story...so here's mine....tell me what u all think.

I installed my cam, heads, intake, exhaust, and then had the pcm "mail-order" tuned just to get my car up and running to get it to the DYNO. Well, I wanted to get my gears and stall done before I did take it to the DYNO, so I went ahead and installed my converter last weekend...went to do the gears, and upon getting into the rearend we discovered the gears were already done..with 4.10s being in there. I couldn't really believe that...but since I hadn't gotten to drive the car much I guess it is plausible. I leave those in. It is here that I must say that the computer upon having it tuned the first time I find that it thinks there are the stock 2.73s in...this is obviously screwing up odometer and speedometer...but would it screw up anything as far as driveability?

OK, so I go ahead and drive it...not mashing it much since I want to protect it until it is tuned good...the engine stalls EVERY time i approach a stop or even slow to a point where I wouldn't be stoppin...right around 1k rpms...I assume this is due to a change in rotational weight from the new converter, but I wasn't sure It would do it every time. Runs very strong though. Question is, after its tuned..how often should it stall...i suspect it might some..but how often? is my problem related to a tune?

Just open your throttle body blade with the set screw while the car is off a little at a time till it quits, You just have to raise the iac noisefloor.

ohh and yes, the gears are important, you have to have that EXACT if you have an auto. The shifting will be very wrong with that difference.

good good thank you...anybody else have anything. I've read that line pressure needs increased to stop the stalling...does that sound correct?

It is all in the tune... a good tuner should be able to make the car idle and drive great with no stalling.
