Most of the people I have heard of unplug the VSS to get around a speed limiter and not cheating on mileage.

You would basically have to disable the output coming out of the transmission.

It is your car do what you want to provided you arent cheating someone else.

Curious as to why you're asking. You're younger than I am, so I'm guessing you're about to do something stupid and dishonest.

Regardless of whether or not it's counting the miles, you're still putting miles on your car.

Mileage is just a number, it's not going to hurt you... Just the car's value, which is legitimately being decreased by your driving...

Just leave it connected. Otherwise, I think it seems pretty clear you have intentions to committing odometer fraud.

Either way, she's still been whored out and you're married to a *****.

Denial isn't a good thing. There's no reason for it. You have intentions of odometer fraud if your car will be sold at any point.
You're 21 years old, and I'd put money on the "I'll NEVER sell this car" mentality never holding up.

Yeah, its called fraud! Unless vehicle is sold as nam ie not actual mileage, or the vehicle exceeds the age requirement then you can do time for it. Its a federal offense. I used to work in the used car business. I know the laws regarding this. I wouldnt do it!

I have seen them before on bmw's. We have had customers come into the dealership with them in their car. Can you say instant warranty void, lol. DO what you want to your car just as long as you know the conquences.

So what it is just a number. My car shows 12K miles more than it actually has on it. It is just a stupid number. My orginal cluster failed. Tough rocks.

If everything on the car is new, keep record of when the parts where purchased and the mileage they were installed. You should have no problems selling the car if you can prove it's where abouts.

No one likes putting miles on there car and seeing those number get higher and higher. But you have the car to drive it, might as well do it. I keep a pilots log book in my car and record every oil change, parts added, and once in a while mpg.

exactly, i personally wouldnt do this to my car. Doesnt really do anything for you unless youre going to sell it which is not right. If you want low miles, stop driving it or buy a car with lower miles on it and then dont drive that one. Cars were meant to be driven so drive the damn thing with the odo. plugged in!
