This code has just been thrown after having the car dyno-tuned.![Bang Head](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_banghead.gif)
Never threw code beforehand but probably just coincedental.![Icon Confused](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies2/icon_confused.gif)
I had a friend reset the code but it came back after 20 minutes of driving.I then took it back to performance shop where it was hooked up to laptop and driven about thus verifying NO knock present(appearing as though its false code?)He erased code again, and I drove car over 100 miles without a code prompt but it came on again immediately after I did a 1st gear 100 ft. burnout.
Possible bad electric connection?...Bad KS?...Is it possible exhaust bumping cars undercarraige may set KS off???
ANY INPUT WOULD BE APPRECIATED!

Thanks for the input.![Nod](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_nod.gif)
If the KS is malfuntioning will that effect the cars performance?![Icon Confused](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies2/icon_confused.gif)
Even more important...Will it hurt the engine if I wait till winter to crack open the intake to fix?

Find the connector at the back of the engine and ohm each terminal (one for each sensor) IIRC a good KS should read 99 ohms.
I had the code before and someone posted a link on how to ohm them out and all, I don't know where that link is now.
I ordered two sensors and a harness, and when I put them back in I sealed the boots with silicone as per a GM TSB about water getting in the sensor wells due to washing the engine or just driving in rain I guess. I only washed my engine twice, the bad sensor had a lot of rust on it.
Hope this helps somehow.

9000th01ss has the solution. Definitely change both KSs and the wire.
The KS codes carry the penalty of a constant 4 degrees of KR. This needs to be addressed ASAP.

knock sensor wire GM 12601822
knock sensors (AC Delco 12589867) It's actually cheaper to buy the sensor at rockauto.com. The sensor costs an extra buck but their shipping is cheaper and you can use code:
1013103313637 in the "Where did you hear about us" box at checkout for 5% off.

At this point it appears to be bad KS.
The shop says the car is running perfect with no knock whatsoever,so my question is this...
Can I have them disable the KS for now and replace them in the offseason?
If I do will this hurt the car or effect performance so long as there is no code registering?
