Need help tuning a4 Could someone take a look at my bin and give me a hand? I've been trying to get shift firmness and tcc stuff exactly how I like it. Problem is my shift firmness. It's either too much, or too little. The attatched bin is "close". Everything is pretty much the way I like, but my 1-2 shift is too hard. Should I play with the force motor current more, or adjust the shift pressure modifier for the 1-2? And I have a stock converter. Thanks in advance.

Hmm, I didn't think about that. I was going to just start adding small percentages to my force motor current table...or play with the pressure modifier table on the 1-2.

That didn't work either. I even went as high as stock...maybe I should have gone higher since my force motor currents are lowered. What about the shift pressure modifier?
I have never tried changing the force motor currents or the shift pressure modifier. Or even the shift pressures if you have a shift kit.
My trans guys who builds the 4L60Es said to leave everything stock except for the desired shift times.

Also if your tuning the VE by going into SD and not using the MAF you may get really hard shifts becuase of the P0101-3 codes.
Make sure that "Max Line Pressure" is disabled in the Trans. Diag. section.

I've tried only changing shift times...didn't work how I wanted. Changing the force motor currents made every shift except 1-2 perfect as well as helping with my tcc. I think this is one of those things where everyone does it different. I'm just not sure which way to go in the the shift pressure modifier table. It's not very "smooth" plus it has positive and negative values that I don't quite understand.
Maybe it's the base shift pressure on the 1-2 I need to change. Which table does the force motor current use to determine line pressure?

I haven't tried messing with that table but I interpret it to take the pressure and increase or decrease the line pressures. You could test it by zeroing the entire table and just using the base pressures to see what that does?
