Default A Gen IV crate motor w/a 58 Tooth Reluctor into a Gen III C5?

I was told this was possible without changing the reluctor to the 24 tooth??? First I've heard of this.
Could this be done with an operating system change? Or have I been fed some BS?

That I know of your only options are to change the reluctor wheel or upgrade to the newer pcm and harness.

The cam reluctor and the crank reluctor need to match. So you either need to swap the crank reluctor and cam gear/reluctor, or keep what's in there and upgrade pcms (huge pain)...or wait for LPE to come out with their converter box.
