with efi live ... could not connect at all
I have a HP lap top
I have to use the USB to serial adapt. & the driver is installed. Any idea why I can not connect??

Perhaps the USB serial port is a com por number that your software dosn't look at, I think by default the software will look at COM1: and COM2:
Try unplugging the hardware, go into Hyper Terminal, (Start/Programs/Accessories/Communications) W2K, and see what comport numbers you can open. Go to File/Properties and see what Comport numbers are available in the drop down box, if none then there is a problem with Windows and the USB serial port. Another way to check your serial port (all though not sure if USB comms is listed)is to go into Control Panel and System, click on com ports and see what you have.
