Hmmm. Good idea.
I seem to remember someone on the mailing list say they read some technical papers on the pcm system, and it said that the maf is inaccurate at larger throttle changes. Maybe it reverts to the VE table until tps becomes consistent?

It might, but it seems that having normal slight negative LTFTs also solves this straightforwardly
at least for me.
There will be some internal loop lag within the
MAF as it works on a thermal time scale. But you
can cover it "well enough" by having a naturally
rich calculation & sensor combo. Whether you need
to mess VE around, or just diddle power enrichment
I don't know, but PE has worked for my stockish
vehicle.
