Emissions Trouble
Well I went to take the emissions test today in my 98 Formula (Mods in Sig), and it failed b/c the OBDII tests hadn't completed yet. The tests not completed were, Catalytic Converter Eff., EVAP Control System, and EGR Flow. Now I haven't done much highway driving since getting a tune which is why I don't think it ran through the tests. My question is with the codes that aren't ready, is it b/c of the lack of highway driving, or that we might have tuned it the wrong way?
I am sure my Tuner will throw up a post, he can explain in more detail as to what he did.
I also had a Stored Diagnostic Trouble Code P0405 - EGR Sensor A Circuit Low, would they let me pass if that is there?
Thanks,
Ben

I'm no tuner, just lended a local fbody guy a hand on this one lol.
I turned off his EGR totally, and I turned off all the codes his car was throwing including that 405 as i recall(this was a month or two ago). when we scanned it after the fact nothing was popping up anymore, current or stored so I'm not sure.
was there something i didn't do that would keep the car from running the tests properly, and why is he getting the stored 405 code?
if you guys can offer some insight I'd be glad to fix it, Ben lives right near me.

You cannot "turn off" any of the smog stuff for the OBD II test. The test monitors ALL the smog stuff on the car to see if it is working properly. If I remember correctly, the car has 240 seconds to get all the smog stuff running correctly. I love that test; I have been passing easily since 2003. They never look at the car; just check the computer.
