Autotap or Ls1edit / Which to buy first?
Should I buy the Auto tap scan logger or ls1edit first? I already have a hand held scan tool like that is universal for all OBDII scanners. I also have the HPPIII installed. I guess I am just worried that after buying the LS1edit I will be totally clueless about how to use it and I will have wasted alot of money, Although eventually I would hope to sell my HPPIII and recover some of my loses. I was assuming that the Autotap scan logger would help me be more familiar with how my car is running and then I could step up and buy the ls1edit and start fine tuning some things. I already deleted my EGR so this is another reason to want the EDIT sooner( do not like SES lights).

Sounds like you already figured it out. I wouldn't want to start editing without being able to scan/log and see what I was changing! I hear you on the SES light. At least with autotap, you could read your codes to make sure the EGR is the only problem. I would stick to your plan: "the Autotap scan logger would help me be more familiar with how my car is running and then I could step up and buy the ls1edit and start fine tuning some things"

Can you log data with a tech2, or is it only a scan tool? I don't think enough people on this board know the capabilities of a tech2 in order to give you a good answer.
