Ordered LS1_Edit, When do I supply my VIN?

Ordered LS1_Edit, When do I supply my VIN? K, I'm confused. I ordered the "Locked" version, but there was no place on the order form for the VIN.
How does it end up getting locked?
Does it happen the first time you use it, or do you have to call and exchange info with carputing?
I can also imagine that the first time you download your data, it would be able to capture the VIN, then possibly burn it into an EPROM in the cable on the first upload...
