98 computer to a 99-02 conversion

I know if I convert with repinning the harness I will lose my cluster but does anyone know if I put a newer cluster (99-02) if they will still work assuming the body harness' are the same.

You might want to get with another guy on this section, he wants to go to 98 and you want to go up, so it might save you guys a bunch of money.

^^^Wow, I couldn't think of a single situation where someone would want to swap TO a 98 pcm...but there ya go! lol

You will not "loose" your cluster. The fuel gage will not work. The rest will. If your tuner uses EFI Live he can make the fuel gage work with the software and +1 wire.

If you want to upgrade to a newer cluster you will have to re-pin the cluster connector and splice in a serial data wire for it.

Much less work to do the former.
