Default Cam surge at startup.

My car has been tuned with ls1 edit but it still has cam surge at startup for about 30 seconds . Is that normal for an A4 car, I dont mind it, just wondering .

Yes . . . that's about how long it takes to go closed loop and add more ignition timing at idle.

It just takes it that long to get warmed up-mine also sometimes does it especially if my car has been parked for a few days.

The PCM behaves differently once the ECT (Engine Coolant Temp) reaches 100*F.

Cam surge is not necessarily inevitable. The size of the cam has a lot to do with it. My cam is a CC 222/568/114 and mine is an A4. When the cam was installed the surge was bad.
I have stage 2 Z06 heads so I decided to start with Z06 tables. I used the VE,Idle, RAF and IAC tables. I added .50 to the IAC and RAF tables and adjusted idle to my liking. I took the VE table down 70%. The surge is gone and the car has none of the other negative results from a cam.
