Lost A/C and coolant temperature at the same time.
Lost A/C and coolant temperature at the same time. So, driving to work, my a/c suddenly stops being cold, and I notice my coolant gauge is now reading completely cold.
I know the temp gauge was working when I left, since I don't drive away until the car's temp gauge starts to move up a bit.
Factory gauge on a 2006 GTO.
The gauge still has power, and all the other gauges work fine, but it's like this gauge isn't getting a reading.
I'm wondering if since it's not getting a reading, if maybe the a/c won't engage the a/c clutch since it can't tell how hot the car is.
Just guessing here, gonna put in a new coolant sensor since it only costs like 15 bucks.

Hi, my GTO 2006 water pump started leaking, havent replaced it yet but I been driving an refilling the the coolant as it lowers, for maybe a few days before i take it to replace, but all of a sudden the coolant temp gauge stopped working. Where is the temp sensor mounted ? (you mentioned your have replace it...) . Is it in the in the radiator iteself, or in the water pump, or ?.... Thanks
Your likely to catch some flak for posting this type of question here...But the short answer us the coolant sensor it's in the passenger side cylinder head. I'd probly get a manual I'd I were you, or have a buddy help.
