What about the "other" computers?
What about the other computers? Cops have
tools to read your BCM after an accident.
Wonder if there're tools to program it to
keep its mouth shut, or better yet cough up
a nice alibi.
But what I'm really thinking about, is how
the Traction Control system licks *****, and
how it would be so much better if it only
did one simple thing, which is to apply ABS
softly to the faster-spinning rear wheel
until it is within (say) 25% of the slower,
forget the fronts, forget the spark retard,
forget the throttle pullback, just give the
Torsen what it needs to work right, which is
a baseline torque on the slipping side.
I'd put the value of a reprogrammed TCS "brain"
at roughly the difference between a T-2R chunk
($400) and a stock Torsen chunk (dirt), minus
shopper incentive.
Just rambling, but who knows what evil lurks
in the hearts of idle disassemblers?
Stay off the sidewalk, any you'll most likely never have to worry about anyone seeing whats stored in your little black box.

The "black box" is made mostly for GM... if you state that your accelerator stuck and as a result you had an accident (if you remember... was a big prob w/Jeeps a few years back), GM can use the info in this box to prove you wrong , or to show that they DO have a problem (Costs them less money to do a recall than have lots of law suits)
In regards to the rest of your questions... pcm.dxsoftware.com ... the only hardware to read the other bus's (such as BCM) are GM Proprietary (though you can buy the hardware... just VERY expensive)... but it's just a matter of legally reverse engineering the info... (meaning figuring everything out the hard way... trial and error)
all the systems are linked into the DLC, just a matter of figuring out the info to send and the info to receive....
