Question Starter or Ignition Relay???

Hi Guys,

I was getting my car (2002, Trans Am, Ls1 Auto-trans, collectors Ed. 45k miles on it), ready for emissions this week and the car just doesn't want to start anymore. It drove fine all of last week, I put about a 100 miles on it (local driving) and it started fine everytime. I had this issue before, once in a while when I turn the key, nothing happens, I wait for 10 minutes or so and keep trying to start it and it use to fire up. The security light is Not on, so I know thats not the issue. The battery is almost new and was tested to be in excellent condition, never had starter issues cause the car use to start up in 1 try, everytime. Anyways, from reading different threads here, I narrowed it down to the relays.

My question is which relay, (ignition or Starter) would cause the car to not turn at all? Like I mentioned, I turn the key and nothing happens, no cranking of the motor, no clicking, no dimming lights. Battery volts are fine and I can hear the fuel pump working as well.

THANKS GUYS, I would appreciate any help I can get on my issue,
Thanks again.

My car had the same issue -

The anti theft relay control circuit (0.35 mm wire) between the relay and BCM is probably loose in the connector. I fixed this intermittent open by re-securing that wire in the housing. The relay is located to the right of the glovebox behind it.

When that happened did anything else work? When I put my key in and go to start the car nothing is happening. I can't even use the power door locks or the trunk button.

I am having the same issue, I replaced the clutch switch. Thought that was the issue, it started fine for a week or so, then after that it would not start. I turn the key, the fuel pump primes, nothing. I do hear a clicking noise from under the hood, I am hoping that it is the ignition relay? Did anyone ever get the issue fixed?

Thanks Guys!

Replace the ignition relay and see if that solves the problem. That solved a no start issue I had a couple years ago.
