Default Anyone done a home made FTRA for non-ws6?

I've got a Trans Am, 98, would love the hood, but I just ca't afford it when I could be buying something else to make it actually go faster. So...I'm doing my intake up now, and reading up it seems that the best bang for buck ratio in any intake I could get without changing the hood is going to be:

-Lid
-KNN filter (mostly for reusability. I get discount on these too.)
-FTRA/SSRA or something similar.

And this is the thing, I see a few threads on home made ram air systems for camaros, but I haven't been able to find a verson for the firebird/trans am nose.

Has anyone done this? Can anyone point me in the right place? I should think that spending 150 bucks on the ram air portion would kinda defeat he purpose of trying to save money for me. I've got a couple other toys to budget for!

If nothing turns up, I'm gonna try it myself and see what I can do. Most designs seem to involve dryer hose....could I just make a shetmetal plate to replace he bottom of the airbox and run a couple of well placed tubes down similar to the sux2beu thing for camaros?
