Default EGR help

Well guys I need your help, I had my egr tube removed from the solenoid, when the ls6 intake was installed. I am going to reinstall the tube into the top of the ls6 intake. I am going to very carefully cut a hole into the ls6 intake to put the tube into so it still looks like I have the stock egr........good idea or bad idea? Also how does the smog checker check if the egr is functioning? it's a 2000 trans am by the way. Also since I had the egr code set to no report will they see that at smog and fail me? suggestions or comments please!!!

If you drill it I doubt it will seal correctly when you install the tube into.

Put your old LS1 intake on or buy one you can get it for like 30.00 or 40.00. and you dont screw up your LS6

Why do you say that it won't seal correctly?

I think that Lingenfelter made parts to do this. If SLP can do it, I don't see why you can't.

I am going to seal around the hole, with some stuff we use for aircraft that is very high heat resistant. So it should work well!! Anyone else with some input..?

The Lingenfelter piece was a CNC machined piece of plastic that fit perfectly in the intake, sadly it's been discontinued

I think the best thing to do would be make an SLP style adapter with fittings. The SLP modded intake used 3/4"(OD of EGR tube) Swagelok fittings to make their "kit". Head over to slponline and download the install PDF for the LS6 w/EGR intake, that should point you in the right direction.

Wow thanks!! I wonder if they only sell the provisions? Anyone have any idea how I could make this myself if they don't or has anyone done this before?
