Last of the breed badge....
Where did you guys get your last of the breed badges? I found a company that has them, but I am not 100% sure if they are GM ones or remakes.
Also, what do you think of putting these on a 99 Car?

Probably remakes, as the original stuff is pretty thin these days, ..., Sometimes the package shows up on Ebay or elsewhere. And I'm not sure, but it wasn't really a GM thing was it? It was some other company's add-on? I dunno, ...
99? I'd bet it'll be a overwhelming response as 'no, not 99'. But there are some people who have used it on the 98-02's. It's yer move, ...

Ya the LOB was never a GM thing.. You bought them and added them on yourself.. I would say no on the 99 but it has been done. Since it is an aftermarket thing anyways put them on if you want...

Well I figured since the car is the last generation, and the logo states 67-02 that It may apply to all years, and our cars are pretty much "last of the breed" based on whats going on with GM. Thats all.
Im not too sure where the badges came from, but the company I found them from told me that these are the same ones GM used. The company is called 737graphics.

it was a dealer option, not some aftermarket thing you bought on the side. not every dealer sold them. if you got the original set, you got 2 badges, key fobs, and a framable certificate stating you bought the last year firebird. it was probably available on any firebird, formual, or TA.
i got mine around 2003-4 off ebay, when original kits were still around.

They make a variety of emblems for auto manufacturers. Don't know if they can still give you a LOTB kit but if you contact them they may refer you to who can.
The emblems clearly say 1967-2002 on them. So I don't think it's cool to put them on a 99 but do as you see fit.

Simply put they are a company that makes badge and stripe packages available to dealerships to add to "normal" vehicles to make them seem more special so they can charge more.
Last month I did a carshow at a dealership and they had door prizes. A Few of which were the badge packages from MDG. One of the packages was a special made by order of the dealership to be used on Yukons and it was a New Orleans Saints Edition badge package. Really well done urethane badges and large fleur de lis stickers for the windows. They will custom make sets like that for dealers and such, that is just what they do.
check out their website for more of what they do. www.mdgglobal.com

I say do what you want, but they are specifically designed for the 2002 cars. It says that right on the certificate that comes with it.
And it was never a dealer option although some dealers were known to buy them and install them. Morgan design did make them, they are a 1/2 hour away from me. I went there to pick my kit up when they first came out. I believe they also made the NHRA badges.

Personally, I think they are kinda lame. I like the sentiment, but IMO extra badges just clutter up the look of the car.
Also, the only year I think these belong on are '02's, as those ARE the last of the breed.
As far as the '99, they made them for 3 more years, so that's not really the LOTB, is it?
You can say the 4th gen is the last of the breed, but in that case you could have people putting them on '93's, and I don't think ANYBODY would agree with doing that.
Your car though, so if you like it, go for it.

Yuck to having them on anything but a 02. Do what you want, but to me its like ppl who put WS6 on their car because they bought an aftermarket ram air hood or something. Then again that was an actual desigination by GM, LOTB isn't.

Back when the LOTB kit came out, this same debate went on...some said if you don't have a 2002 you shouldn't put it on, others said anything
67-02 qualified. I don't remember anyone coming to a decision.
But I say have at it. You have a Firebird just like me and it definitely is a Last of its Breed. There will never be anything else like our Birds on the road.
