Trying to judge the v6 f bodies off of the V8 isnt the best way to compare. There are a few similarities and quite a few differences. The FWD cars were cable until later on. Circa 04 or so. Plus the RWD 3800 also had 2 diff intakes, one the TB comes off at an angle, the other it pokes out straight.
Also the LS1 GTO was cable as well, but there were quite a few cars already doing the DBW including most of the trucks.

Thanks guys, yeah the switch from cable TB to electric TB happened after 1998. Of course in 1998 the cars had a new front end style, allowing for more hood clearance and the new straight intake with electric TB came in the 1999 model cars.
I would go forced induction, but as I mentioned earlier in the thread I can't afford to do it correctly right now, so I won't do it at all.

New gaskets picked up today, started putting in the QA1's. Gotta get new bottom bolts for the rears...
I have the front end back down on ramps and holy crap I need to lower that thing alot more! Car has like 4 to 5 inches of fender gap haha! That's what I get when I swap from an LS1 car with a full turbo kit up front. I even lowered the height an inch before putting the wheels on. I'll do it after everything else is done on the car, will make it easier to crawl around under there for the time being. Gotta pull off the headers and the whole top end tomorrow before I head off to work.
New wheels are shipping, should be in on Monday. Time to start looking into a nice set of sports tires for them...

good work man. I need to get my intake off to try and fix a sticky lifter.
Keep us updated.
BTW that battery you have is that the factory battery? I have the same one and was curious if its what came from the factory or just cheap autzone replacement.

Cheap autozone replacement. I thought I killed it after starting the car after the build, but it just didn't get charged enough after a few starts.
I've had it for 6 years now...

Autocraft is actually Advance Auto Parts brand....it's made by Johnson Controls, and that titanium is their "best" line with the 3 year free replacement warranty.
Dane: What are you tearing it down for? I missed what went wrong....what's up?

Cometic MLS gaskets were weeping, having to pull it to spray all three layers front and back w/ copper spray. I had already teflon'd the head studs, so I'm going to check and make sure the deck is nice and level...

Nice build I like it! love the valve covers.
Did you figure out why your head gaskets were leaking? What brand where they? You should not have to spray MLS gaskets down with anything, most MLS head gaskets have silicone bead applied to the gasket so you don't have to. The only thing I could think of is the block deck or head deck is not the right RA.
