That was essentially a dealer add-on package through GMPP. Factory backed (and developed), but not installed at the factory.
Here's a guy who's a little obsessed: http://www.firebirdgt.com/
SLP did make a Firebird GT for 2001 & 2002, but it was not much more than some minor suspension pieces and stripes.

that's not quite true. IIRC All 93 Trans Am's had the "GT" package with the high rise spoiler but they didn't call them GT's. Only the 94 was called a GT and you are right about the spoiler being a GT only thing, however in 95-97 (or maybe 95-96) the high rise spoiler was a seperate $400 option. I have seen 95 and 96 T/A's without the high rise spoiler and i know it was standard for 1998 but i'm not sure on 97.

The 2001 V-6 I had before I traded it in on the 2002 WS6 I have now, had the 3800 Performance Package. I still have the window sticker here.
Limited slip Torsen rear end with 3:42 gears, available only on the automatic, Uplevel Steering, whatever the hell that is, Dual Outlet exhaust just like the TA, and P235/55R16 Touring Tires.
$490 option and man that rear end combined with the A4 made it a low geared car, definatly not a freeway car, but it sure was quick off the line for a V-6.
The code for the 3800 Performance package is Y87.

It was a Firebird body style and wing with 2 stripes that started with a bird in front and running over the hood, top, and rear. There were small GT bird emblems on the sides of the B-pillars.
It had dual-dual exhaust and for an extra $299 you could get 16 X 8 inch silver painted Trans Am wheels and a performance package with larger front and rear stabilizer bars.
They look like this:
