Just spent 20 minutes looking through your post! Looks awesome! Decided to ditch the first T/A though?
Mine only has 97k on it but everything your doing makes me just want to tear it all down and start from the bottom!
Good luck getting everything situated and running right!

The plan was to ditch the first one, but that never went through. The roller I got has very heavy rust on the bottom of the car. So much that when I put it up on the lift the arm almost went through the bottom. I am back with the original ta now. Should be getting parts back from powder coating this week, and should be able to have it back together in order to send to get painted. Hopefully by the end of the month it is running and ready for paint.
As for completely tearing down the car, it is fun, however it has its cost when you find everything that needs to be redone. It is also very time consuming. I have had this car almost two years now and it is starting to get depressing how long it has taken. If you decide to tear down though do it once and do it right. That was my way of going about it, even though I have still changed my mind on things a few times lol!

Thanks! I will continually update with pictures now that I am back on track with building the car.
I think my power steering pump lines are leaking now though. Is there anyway to replace just the lines?

Well, Spohn makes a manual pinto rack that is a brand new piece. I have always seen it with their K member, so I'm not sure if it will work with a stock K member or not...I doubt it. But I've heard it's a very nice piece and isn't too bad to drive. Plus you lose the heavy power rack and pump, etc. But it won't be cheap. You would be cheaper to buy new hoses and a new reman rack. If you go that route, buy an Atsco rack. I wouldn't consider any other brand...regardless of price. Best damn steering remanufacturer in the world.

I have a PA Racing K member so that would not be an issue. I'm thinking for getting a set of lines from CBR performance. I think the rack itself is fine, just bad lines. The lines are rusted around the clamps and i think that's where it is leaking. I haven't had much time to look at it though.

I doubt their Pinto rack would fit another brand K member...but it's worth a call to find out. But I think you are making the right choice and getting new hoses. Manual steering makes more sense on a race car. Street car likes power steering!

Yeah, I went and looked at it and it has a special bracket that is only on their K-member. Looks like new lines it is. I'm sure the car doesn't mind the manual rack, just the driver does lol.

Car will be in full primer after next weekend. If I had this to do over again I would have been done much sooner. Oh well live and learn. Next rebuild will be a lot faster.

Don't know if you question with the brakes was answered or not but if anything i would just do a mock up and see if they would fit. If it doesn't then oh well if it does then its good to go. Your doing amazing work keep it up looking forward to seeing the final results

I think I answered that myself with the roller I bought. I believe that without traction control only one line goes back, so I bought a set of lines that had traction control which is not a big deal, just have to take one out.

Well..... I have learned a valuble lessson. Meaure and line up before you weld. I did not do agood job of this so my tail lights do not line up at all. It's as if they are being pinched. I drilled out the holes to make them bigger, but the filler plate acts like it is being smushed.
As of right now I am parting out everything except the drivetrain for this car. If anyone is interested in anything just let me know and I will give you a good deal on some parts.
New plan is transplanting the drivetrain in a 240sx.
Sad day...

Yeah, learned a valuable lesson though. It seems as if when I welded in the tail panel i pinched the quarters too close together. Being the first time ever doing this I did learn a lot that will help with future builds, but this just gives me another reason to do a swap that i've been wanting to for a while now.

Yeah it's a shame. I will sell the shell to someone though if they want to put a new tail panel in it. I have another tail panel as well, just dont feel like spending the time doing it again.
