I've been driving mine for 2 years now in the Chicago winter. The first drive was kinda shaky since i wasn't used to rear wheel drive and had crappy tires. Since then i buy about 120lbs of kitty litter and put it in the back every winter. Two 40 lb bags behind the rear seats and one 40 lb bag in the "trunk" area where the t-tops are normally stored. That along with Michelin all season tires has gotten me through 2 winters with no problems. Like someone said above, if you drive with common sense and be careful, you will not have a problem.

I used to daily drive my 79 firebird through high school and shortly after. I have been through many snowy winters and never had any serious issues. Just like every one else said, know how to counter steer and take it real easy.
I always would laugh when people would call in to work cause they would claim their eco-box wouldn't make it through the snow.

You must not know how to drive in the snow then. All I've ever driven is rwd cars and they do fine in the snow, oh and all were manuals too. I can't tell you how many times I've seen a fwd car get stuck. Friend of mine had a Volvo S60 fwd, and it sucked ***** in the snow, whereas my '80 Volvo 240 rwd car did terrific.

I wouldn't drive my LS1's in the winter. The salt on the roads will eat away the car. It's better to get a beater car for the winter.
