Loose Ignition switch 4th Gen Trans Am
Alright I might be looking in the wrong places, but I cant find anything on a loose ignition switch on a 2002 Trans Am.
I cant get it to go into acc or any position except On, and I need to reprogram it to change the alarm sensitivity. Is there any way to fix it without replacing the lock switch?

Hmmm..so it doesn't start? Possible that the switch has faulty contacts for the ones that don't work. But maybe your key cylinder? Is there any physical restriction to where you can't get into those positions or is it that they just don't work? If there is a physical restriction to where you can't get the key to turn, then i would look at your key cylinder.

Yea sounds like a key cylinder issue. They are cheap, but our cars have a chip in them so you might have to go to gm and get one. And get a new key. Maybe the PCM has to be set for the new chip? I could be wrong as I've never messed around with a cylinder like ours. Ill look into it later and let you know tomorrow afternoon. Also, they make a cleaner for the cylinder. I would ask pep boys or your local parts store and even locksmith for what works the best.
